The lifelink feels really tacked on, like they knew it needed something else and couldn't think of anything to put. Personally, I would have gone with "Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield under your control, or is put in your graveyard from anywhere, scry 1." Feels much more in-flavor with the card since this guy is a trader, not just a collector.

I personally wish that Aetherborn were artifact creatures, i would play this in modern tezzorator if it was an artifact.

Mechanically it makes sense. The reason certain decks will run 2 mana x/4 creatures such as Wall of Omens is because they are a slower decks that need to persevere through aggro into the end game. Lifelink is great for this task.
